Leslie Bulion and Robert Meganck are back with another cross-curricular celebration of science and poetry—this time starring frogs, toads, salamanders, and more.

Step right up and learn all about the remarkable stars of Leslie Bulion's Amphibian Acrobats show! Marvel at the jaw-dropping dexterity of "Daredevil Free-Climbers," the astounding agility of "The Olympic Jumpers," the awe-inspiring stamina of the intrepid "Marathoners," and more!

Leslie Bulion's lively poems pair with Robert Meganck's colorful, zany art in this cross-curricular celebration of science and language. Thorough back matter includes a science glossary, notes on poetry forms, and resources for additional information about these extraordinary animals.
Leslie Bulion has graduate degrees in oceanography and social work. She has written parenting and education articles and is the author of several children's science-related poetry books and novels. When she's not writing, she enjoys exploring nature with her binoculars, hand lens, and camera; collecting specimens to examine under her microscope; or going SCUBA diving and or kayaking. Leslie lives in Connecticut.

Designer and illustrator Robert Meganck is Professor of illustration, graphic design, digital imaging, and color theory at Virginia Commonwealth University. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He has received over 300 regional, national, and international awards for illustration and graphic design work, and been recognized for excellence by such organizations as The Society of Illustrators New York and The Society of Illustrators Los Angeles.
★ "A completely satisfying package. . . It's impossible not to warm to herpetology after reading aloud poems. . . Meganck's wry cartoons amplify the humor. The backmatter, strong as the main text, serves young readers well but will also spur teachers interested in multidisciplinary units on to new heights. . . Child readers and educators will find themselves enthralled by short, punchy poems and the science behind them." —Kirkus Reviews, Starred Review

"Delightful. . . The joyful poems beg to be read aloud. . . The jaunty illustrations amplify the text's humor. . . .a fun and informative addition for nature lovers." —School Library Journal

★ "Using the same format as Superlative Birds (2019) and Leaf Litter Critters (2018), which never gets old, Bulion pairs jaunty poems with science notes. . . . The thorough yet equally spirited science notes complement the poems. . . Once again, Bulion awes—and ewws—readers with facts disguised as fun."—Booklist, Starred Review
