Penguin Random House is proud to continue its partnership with First Book in celebrating and supporting educators nationwide throughout the month of May.
To recognize the vital role teachers, play, 25 educators will each receive a $200 credit to the First Book Marketplace helping them bring new books and resources into their classrooms ahead of summer.
This initiative aims to expand students’ access to engaging reading materials during the summer months, when maintaining literacy is especially critical. Winners will be selected at random in early June.

Teacher Appreciation Week and National Teacher Day have a rich history dating back to 1953, when First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt advocated for national recognition of teachers. Today, Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated during the first full week of May, with National Teacher Day observed within that week.
Teachers play an essential role in shaping young minds and inspiring lifelong learning. We’re proud to celebrate their impact not just this month, but all year long.
