Furthering the mission of Penguin Random House, the PRH Elementary Education website provides access to unparalleled books and resources for teachers to help students foster the confidence and passion to engage with books and learning.
That mission informs everything we’ve done to create this website—from developing Teaching Collections, built for educators to support specific instructional intent like Socio-Emotional learning, STEM, and Social Studies—to PreK-6 grade level classroom resources and guides to infuse the classroom with great series like Seuss and The Magic Tree House, and author study with Jacqueline Woodson, Nic Stone and more.
The Penguin Random House Elementary website features over 20,000 books for the PreK-6 classroom—including numerous award-winning classroom favorites—the site presents new and classic fiction, non-fiction, and picture books from the Penguin Young Reader’s and Random House Children’s publishing divisions, as well as children’s publishers distributed by Penguin Random House.
Teachers will now be able to peruse book descriptions, read excerpts from inside the book, and explore titles by grade range, reading level, and subject area, including English Language Arts (ELA), Social Studies, STEAM, and Spanish-language, as well as Favorite Authors and Series, and Education and Professional Learning.
Use the Search function to look for blog posts or Teaching Collections that have already been created.
Yes. Along with discovering great books for the classroom, educators will also be able to find curated Teaching Collections in specific topic areas such as: Leveled Readers, Read-Aloud, Socio-Emotional Learning, Biographies, History and many more curriculum areas.
Categories and tags can be used to narrow down results when browsing Teaching Collections. Categories refer to broad topics (e.g. “English Language Arts”, “Math”, “STEAM”, etc.); tags refer to more specific subtopics within these (e.g. “Biography”, “Action & Adventure”, “Science & Nature”, etc.).
Every Teaching Collection and Catalog is manually created, accounting for relevance, age and grade, availability, and timeliness. To see all of our Teaching Collections and catalogs, click here.
Fiction books are found primarily in the English Language Arts and Spanish/Bilingual Books sections. Form those sections, you can find a wealth of fiction titles that apply to topics from across the disciplines.
Nonfiction books are found in discipline-specific topics throughout the site, as well as in the English Language Arts and Spanish/Bilingual sections.
If you don’t want to use one of the Teaching Collections already created on the site, you can create a customized collection using the Wish List feature.
