Sidney Poitier

Sidney Poitier was an Academy Award–winning actor, a film director, an author, and a diplomat. He wrote three bestselling autobiographical books: This Life, The Measure of a Man: A Spiritual Autobiography, and Life Beyond Measure: Letters to My Great-Granddaughter. Born in Miami, Florida, Poitier was raised in the Bahamas and lived in Beverly Hills, California, with his wife of more than four decades, Joanna Shimkus Poitier. Sidney Poitier died in 2022.
