Two 601-year-old goblin tricksters from Korea go on an unexpected Halloween adventure in New York City in this tongue-in-cheek story from Frances Cha, critically acclaimed author of If I Had Your Face, and #1 New York Times bestselling illustrator Jaime Kim.

"A sweet, comical Halloween venture for all." -Kirkus Reviews

Doki and Kebi are two Korean magical goblin twin brothers who couldn't be more different!

Kebi loves to scare people (maybe a little too much) and explore!

Doki would rather give people bags of gold when he's not reading a book!

Despite their differences, Doki and Kebi are inseparable. When it's time for the goblin tricksters to move, the brothers decide to make their new home together in a strange, unknown land...New York City! As they prepare for the new customs of Halloween, Doki and Kebi are in for a surprise in this new holiday adventure inspired by the Korean mythology of dokkaebi.

Frances Cha is a former travel and culture editor for CNN in Seoul and Hong Kong. She was born in the United States, attended elementary school in Hong Kong and moved to Korea when she was 11. JAIME KIM was born and raised in South Korea and now lives in North Carolina. Although she was a timid child who was afraid of just about everything, she discovered a sense of serenity in drawing. As a grown-up, Jaime finally stopped being afraid of everything, but kept on drawing and painting. She works with gouache, watercolors and acrylics to create nostalgic and dreamlike illustrations, inspired by childhood memories of her family, as well as movies, art, and the outside world. Her favorite things are the sun, the moon, the sky and stars -- which is why they always creep into her artwork. Her debut illustrated picture book, Take Heart, My Child, was a #1 New York Times bestseller. View titles by Jaime Kim

"Based in Korean lore, this read’s a treat any day of the year." —Publishers Weekly

"Cartoony digital illustrations give the dokkaebi-shown as colorful, blobby, rosy-cheeked tricksters-personality and provide funny, scene-setting details." —The Horn Book

"Kim’s digital illustrations are adorable, vibrant, and just spooky enough for any haunted storytime....A great, not-so-scary pick for little listeners." —Booklist
