    Amber awakes, ready for a perfect day at the county fair. She, her parents, and her best friend, Justin, and his family are in the Poconos on vacation. She's got it all planned . . . hot dogs, cotton candy, games, and wonderful rides.

    The morning turns out almost exactly as Amber hoped, but then her mom and dad get into a fight. And a perfect day at the fair turns into just a fair day.

    Paula Danziger grew up wanting to be an author . . . and then she became one.  She wrote over 25 books, traveled to more than 15 countries, and was the kind of colorful character you might find in one of her books. She loved to play, make new friends, and wear purple clothes and nail polish. Sadly, Paula Danziger passed away on July 8, 2004. Amber Brown—and the rest of her book characters—will continue to live on. View titles by Paula Danziger
    Tony Ross has illustrated over 800 books, which are published all over the world. He was the British choice for the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2004. He lives in Oxfordshire. View titles by Tony Ross
