Arlene Laverde is a freelance children's writer and an elementary schoolteacher. She lives in Woodhaven, New York, with her husband and two young sons. This is her first book.

Mindy Dwyer is the award-winning author/illustrator of two books for children, Aurora: A Tale of the Northern Lights and  Coyote in Love. Her artwork can also be seen in numerous publications and in galleries across the country. She lives with her husband, son, and family dog in Bear Valley, Alaska.
