Leaf Jumpers

Illustrated by Leslie Evans
Look inside
How many shapes and colors can you see in autumn leaves? Jump in and find out!

A perfect non-fiction book for fall and fall fun, this informative introduction to autumn offers a rhythmic read paired with vibrant illustrations to capture the beauty of falling leaves. A sparse text perfect for preschoolers and young elementary students offers simple facts about nine species of trees and tips on how to identify their leaves by color, shape, and other key clues.

Informative and fun, Carole Gerber brings us a wonderful introduction to seasons and science for the earliest of leaf jumpers.
Carole Gerber holds a B.S. in English education and an M.A. in journalism from Ohio State. She enjoys sharing her books with children through the Greater Columbus Arts Council Artists in Schools program. In her free time, she likes to garden (her enthusiasm dwindles as summer progresses); read (mostly for her own pleasure and edification; she also belongs to two chatty book discussion groups); travel (to learn about other countries and cultures); and practice yoga (which, like writing, is humbling, challenging and self-instructive.) When time allows she enjoys developing her own projects including calendars, prints, books and broadsides under her imprint, the Sea Dog Press. She has illustrated many books including Leaf JumpersThe Yummy Alphabet Book, and the Alphabet Acrostic series (Clarion). Leslie lives in Watertown, Massachusetts, where she delights in her daily walks along the Charles River with her dog, Clyde.
