Get ready to move while you count!

In this follow-up to Teddy Bear Counting and Teddy Bear Math, kids will be jumping, wriggling, and spinning as they practice their math skills. Like a game of Simon Says, children are asked to moo like cows, fly like planes, and pat their heads while they count, add, sort, and subtract. The hands-on interaction makes math exciting for young learners. Teachers will find this book perfect for use with bear counters or other classroom manipulatives.

Studies show that movement stimulates the brain and helps kids focus. With its bright, colorful illustrations and simple, sing-song rhymes, this book will have little ones eager to go back to the beginning and do more math!
Barbara Barbieri McGrath has written over twenty books for children, including The Little Gray BunnyThe Little Red Elf, and many bestselling math concept books. After graduating from Lasell College with a degree in Early Childhood Education, Barbara opened a preschool where she taught 4-5 year olds for sixteen years. Her love for writing, children and making learning fun was the inspiration for her first children's book, The M&M Brand Counting Book, which sold over 1 million copies. She lives in Natick, Massachusetts. View titles by Barbara Barbieri McGrath
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear,
school’s begun.
Count the teddies.
Join the fun!
The bright, gummy-like teddy bears that appeared in Teddy Bear Counting and Teddy Bear Math return to explore math skills that readers might encounter in school. A rhyming song based on the "Patty-cake, Patty-cake" nursery rhyme incorporates counting, addition, and subtraction: "Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, / pat your head./ Are there fewer/ yellow or red?" Nihoff works familiar aspects of the school day into the digital illustrations, including studying math and science, playing at recess and in phys ed, and sitting on the run ("Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear,/ touch the floor./ Which group of bears has just four?"), while the bears tumble, celebrate, and dress up in costumes fora theatrical production. Young readers should find it easy yet gratifying to count the chunky, colorful bears.
