Having a sister who wants to do everything together is a pain! But in the end, big and little sisters always find a way to make up.

A fun read-aloud picture book with some Spanish words that’s full of humor and heart and perfect for 3-7-year-olds with a younger or older sibling.

Claudia is the big sister. Monica is the little sister. Having each other is fun. They do bubblegum peace bubbles, where they each blow a bubble and almost touch them together.

But sometimes Monica is just way too sticky—wanting to do everything Claudia does. And Claudia finally loses it when Monica tries to come to her soccer tournament. She tells her little sister that there’s a monster that eats little kids. Then, just like siblings do, they work it out and make up.

But when those bubblegum peace bubbles go awry, it brings an entirely new definition to the word sticky!

Back matter includes an author’s note and a Spanish-word glossary. Sticky Hermana releases simultaneously in Spanish as Hermana pegajosa.
Ana Siqueira is a Spanish-language elementary teacher and an award-winning Brazilian children’s author. Her books include Mala Suerte Is Following Me, Bella’s Recipe for Success, and If Your Babysitter Is a Bruja. Besides writing, Ana loves to read, teach, and play with her Cuban-Brazilian-American grandchildren.

Olivia de Castro is an illustrator who grew up in a Colombian-Dominican family and graduated from Pratt Institute with a degree in communications design and a concentration in illustration. Olivia’s illustration style combines traditional inking with bright and energetic color palettes. Her work in inspired by her diverse family and people watching on the NYC subway, and she likes to make art that relates to culture, family, food, humor, and the immigrant experience. When she is not illustrating, she can be found binging true crime documentaries and cooking spicy food in her kitchen. https://oliviadecastro.myportfolio.com/design
