REDISCOVER A CHILDREN’S CLASSIC: An updated edition of the enchantingly spooky animal fantasy for middle grade fans of Redwall—now updated with 60+ stunning new illustrations.

Join power-hungry rats, nature-loving mice, and mystical bats on a second Deptford Mice adventure in the magical sewers under London!

After vanquishing the monstrous cat Jupiter, the Deptford Mice flee their city home along with the mysterious ratwitch, Madame Akkikuyu. Together they seek refuge in the countryside with a colony of fieldmice. But as their hosts busily prepare for the great midsummer festival, something evil is stalking the cornfield in the dead of night, and soon an innocent young mouse lies murdered in the moonlight…

As the once-peaceful community is thrown into turmoil, the mice discover a terrifying enemy in their very midst, and must once again do battle with a formidable dark magic – one so powerful that even the protection of the Green Mouse might not be enough to save them.

This exciting second installment in the beloved Deptford Mice trilogy is a wondrous, dark fantasy adventure, set in a magical world of peaceful mice and bloodthirsty rats. Packed with 60+ brand new illustrations, this updated edition is perfect for kids 9-12 looking for a deliciously scary and magical read.
Robin Jarvis is a British children's author who has entertained (and pleasantly terrified) generations of children with his brilliantly imagined dark fantasy stories, including the Deptford Mice and Whitby Witches series. He studied graphic design in Newcastle and then worked in television and advertising making model monsters and puppets before writing The Dark Portal, the first book on the Deptford Mice series, which was the runner up for the Smarties book prize in 1989.
