Captain Danger and the Time Ghost

Illustrated by Victor Engbers
Translated by David Colmer
The hilarious daredevil Captain Danger is back in his costume of underpants and socks in this time-traveling adventure that features his most awesome quest yet

A laugh-out-loud picture for kids ages 4-8 who love Dav Pilkey and Bunny vs Monkey!

Hi, I'm Captain Danger. You might remember me from our last crazy adventure, where I had to rescue my stupid shadow from Cut-It-Out Island. It was a super-dangerous mission, but I wasn’t scared one bit.

Well, if you’re in the mood for another incredible quest, you’ve come to the right place. Because this is the story of my wildest adventure yet!

It all starts when a time-ghost goes astray and crashes my birthday party. Time-ghosts can cause all sorts of trouble when they get lost, so it's up to me to return her to the beginning of time, before my birthday gets ruined! I may love excitement, but even I don’t want to miss the most awesome party ever!

So, with my trusty sidekick Django, I set off on a journey into time itself. What on earth could go wrong? Well, almost everything – that’s the exciting part! Time travel is pretty risky, there are all sorts of dangerous things in the past. Like hungry dinosaurs and black holes! There are even some annoying aliens that insist we race them around the moon. But I'm the bravest captain ever, so this all sounds like fun to me. You can come along if you like... unless you're too scared!
Victor Engbers is an artist, illustrator and author who lives in Amsterdam. He is the creator of the Awesome Adventures of Captain Danger picture book series, which you should definitely read (if you're not too scared). Captain Danger and the Stupid Shadow is also available from Pushkin Children's Books.

David Colmer has won many prizes for his translations, including the IMPAC Dublin Literary Award and the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize (precursor to the International Booker Prize). His translations for Pushkin Children’s Books include The Cat Who Came in off the Roof and Captain Danger and the Stupid Shadow.
