With more than 80 lift-the-flaps, this engaging book introduces readers to incredible stories, supersititions, and astonishing aspects of ancient Greece.

With more than 80 lift-the-flaps and with flaps under flaps, this book introduces readers to the truth behind some of ancient Greece's most incredible stories and superstitions. Children will learn about the society of ancient Greece, its sports, social hierarchy, and so much more. This immersive book unearths some of the most astonishing aspects of an illustrious culture.
Jonny Marx lives in London, where he works as a children's book editor and author. From a collection of mythical creatures and a chronology of prehistoric creatures, to books about crime capers, lost unicorns, incredible human beings and humankind, Jonny has worked on more than 60 titles (and counting!).

Chaaya Prabhat is an illustrator and graphic designer. After completing her MA in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design, and is now working independently in Chennai, India. She has worked with several clients such as Snapchat, Facebook, Google, and The Obama Foundation on various kinds of illustration projects, but especially loves illustrating children's books.
BOOKLIST

This attractive and information-packed treat has something for readers interested in ancient cultures, mythology, math, and more. After an introduction to ancient Greece generally, some of the treasures that have been found there, and notable archaeologists from diverse backgrounds, spreads cover such topics as “Gods and Goddesses,” “Heroes and Heroines,” and early thinkers and their works. Older readers are by now used to picture-book presentations of nonfiction, but here they’ll find something extra: the spreads feature large and small flaps, and flaps within flaps, so that each double-page spread has as much as several pages would in a typical picture book. While for report purposes the tidbits of information are best used as springboards to deeper research in other titles, browsers will delight in finding all the flaps and the compelling facts they hide. A book with moving parts likely won’t last as long as a regular title when it comes to circulation, and there are no notes or bibliography (there is a time line), but otherwise this is worth the purchase for school and public libraries.
