Jon Klassen

JON KLASSEN is the New York Times-bestselling author and illustrator of numerous books who was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2018 for his contributions to children’s literature. Jon’s I Want My Hat Back, a #1 New York Times bestseller, was named a Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor Book, a New York Times Book Review Best Illustrated Children's Book of the Year, and a Publishers Weekly Best Children's Book of the Year. The second book in his hat trilogy, This Is Not My Hat, won the Caldecott Medal and the Kate Greenaway Medal. His recent books include the Your Places board books and The Skull, a #1 New York Times bestseller that earned six starred reviews and a piece in the New York Times Book Review in which Ransom Riggs refers to Jon as both "the dean of deadpan" and a "national treasure." He is also the illustrator of Extra Yarn, Sam and Dave Dig a Hole, and the Shapes Trilogy, all by Mac Barnett. Originally from Niagara Falls Ontario, Jon now lives in Los Angeles.
