She was an art editor of Ladies’ Home Journal, and often painted its magazine covers. She illustrated many iconic Little Golden Books, including A Day at the Seashore, Heidi, The Night Before Christmas, Doctor Dan the Bandage Man, Christmas Carols, and Nurse Nancy.
