A patriotic tribute to Old Glory, this moving picture book primer explores why the Stars and Stripes are an enduring part of our nation's proud history and American heritage, and a symbol of our democracy and freedom.

With patriotic verse and historical facts, The Flag We Love introduces children to our flag's earliest designs, its role in peace-time and war, and what the Star-Spangled Banner symbolizes to the American people.

The bold, rich illustrations by Ralph Masiello highlight significant points in history, as well as commonplace moments of American life, carefully capturing what our flag means to the people and ideals of the United States of America.

Our flag is our country's symbol
Of ideals that are meant to last
It's a promise for our future
A reminder of our past.

The many connotations
For which our banner stands
Reflect our country's best intentions
And the people of this land.
