    Tida can hardly contain her excitement: it's Songkran Day! She waits patiently all year long to celebrate the Thai New Year, when she finally gets to cook a special meal with her family, visit the temple, and join in the countrywide water fest.     Luckily for Tida, the new year is a time of forgiveness and washing away the past year. With a deep breath, and guidance from her family, she learns how to slow down and make this the sweetest new year possible!
    Dow Phumiruk is a retired pediatrician who now works as a children’s book author and illustrator. Her numerous picture books include the award-winning Counting on Katherine by Helaine Becker and Maya Lin by Jean Walker-Harvey. She was born in Bangkok, Thailand, and now lives in Colorado with her husband and three daughters.
