In 2017, Mark was shortlisted for the AOI World Illustration Awards with his piece "We Will Remember" and in 2013 for The Roald Dahl Funny Prize. In the same year, he went on to win the Sheffield Children's Picture Book Award and was also highly commended in the young fiction category.
